My review of Casa Bar, Tamworth

Casa Bar, Tamworth (Sat 19th April)

We had heard good things about Casa from my moburger, n-law and we decided to have tea there. As you go into the building, it really does smell. Thankfully, the unpleasant aroma was only confined to the entrance and the ladies toilet. I'm not sure if I should tell you what it smelt like but in the object of fairness and honesty I will.
It smelt like unemptied sanitary towel bins! It was quite disgusting. Anyway, onto the food...

We ordered our drinks and food at the bar like the usual way at pubs. The girl behind the bar was so friendly and helpful that at the end of our meals, my mother-in-law actually tipped her.

I ordered the Chilli Burger with BBQ pulled pork. The burger was cooked well but just a standard burger, nothing special. I did like the chilli sauce on the bottom bun and jalapeƱos are a favourite of mine but I found the BBQ pork to be lacking flavour and there was far too little on there. I did not see the point.
Chips were fine - tasted frozen but nothing special, same with the onion rings.

Overall, I would not visit again but it may have just been an off day. We were the only people in the entire place, except for the staff so perhaps this should have been a warning sign. However, we did check out TripAdvisor beforehand which had glowing reviews. I might take my dad there as the portions are huge but personally it's a no from me.

Cheers, B x

Simply Be shopping experience

I have never entered Simply Be before mainly because I thought their stock would be dowdy and tent-like but I have to mention that I was actually surprised by some of their items.

On a recent trip into Manchester I needed a dress for a work party and after being horribly bored by New Look's usual sack of potato's look I decided to take a chance on Simply Be.

After being welcomed, I decided to have a look around and picked up a few things including a jumper which I did not need!
That's when I spotted a beautiful textured black skater dress with sleeves! The dress itself is quite stretchy (and forgiving) which is what I needed.

Onto the changing rooms, they were bright, welcoming and spacious. It felt like a small boutique in the changing room area. The stall was big and had enough mirrors so I didn't have to bend odd ways and I felt very comfortable in there.

Obviously I bought the dress but I wanted to write this post because the customer service was brilliant. I really wish there was a branch in Nottingham but luckily there is a catalogue and the usual online ordering.

They also offer a Joe Browns range if you are a little quirky like me ;-)

Bahlsen Pick Up! Biscuits

Hooray! So I won a box of Pick Up! Biscuits and wanted to review them as they are new to the market.

To be honest I wasn't expecting much from them and my husband said they looked boring. This is obviously not the case at all. The biscuits come in a pack of five and are two biscuits with a good wedge of solid milk chocolate.

I found the idea of packaging them separately a great idea. Slip one in your pocket for lunch when you need that afternoon energy boost or do what we did and dip them in your tea.

We found the biscuits to be crisp and not sharp like others. The star is obviously the chocolate which was thick and solid, creamy but not too sweet or sickly. Together they are heavenly, a good balance. They work really well together but need you wanting more!

Overall we were very pleased (and satisfied) and would definitely buy them again.

You can find these beauts at the usual supermarkets (except for Asda it would seem) and at £1.69 or thereabouts for a five pack its a very reasonable price.

Be warned, they are addictive.

As usual, these opinions are my own and I was sent these from a competition.

I love competitions!

Hey, I am an avid comper and decided to start to review my competition wins and other products.

I really enjoy entering them, it is almost a hobby you could say.

So here we go...

Label.m Resurrection Style Dust RRP £10.95

I won this a while ago and I can honestly say that it does work. I have been losing my hair recently due to stress etc and was excited to try this. It gives great root lift on clean hair and in-between days.
You sprinkle a bit on, give it a brush through and sort of backcomb it to give volume if that makes sense?

I have tried it on both clean and unclean hair and I have to say it works better on unclean hair as my hair does get greasy.

I for one feel that it is worth the money especially since you only need to use a little. I won mine but have seen it on a website for £8. I would totally pay this after my result with the Nioxin Diaboost - review to follow.

Please excuse my camera - using webcam.

This is after the Label.m Resurrection Style Dust.

What my hair normally looks like:

Hen do - I don't have many pics of me. As you can see there is definitely a difference in volume.

Anyway, I hope you have enjoyed my review and please leave suggestions, comments below.

DISCLAIMER: I have not been paid for this review. The product was won in a competition and I am always honest.

Till next time - Bonnie
